Brazil to play against all-stars of Brasileiro tournament

BRASILIA, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Brazil started its Olympic training toward the end of this year with a friendly match against the best players from the Brasileiro tournament, the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) said on their official web site on Saturday.The game between the Brazilian soccer Olympic team and the all-stars from the Brasileiro tournament will take place in Rio deJaneiro at the Joao Havelange stadium on the 9th of December. The game will also mark the year end of national soccer in Brazil.Dunga, the head coach of the Olympic team, requested that there be a practice game to the president of the CBF, Ricardo Teixeira.Dunga will be selecting players based on their age (23 years old or younger) and also with a preference of players that play for teams within Brazil. However, the coach may make some exceptions for players outside of the country as well.According to the coach, the friendly game will allow the team of coaches to carefully observe the selection of players for the Olympic team. The practice game will be the first step towards the physical and technical preparation for the Olympic games of 2008 to be held in Beijing."The Brasileiro Championship displayed the talent of various players at a high technical level who will have the opportunity to show their talents on the national Olympic team and demonstrate their potential to the world. The players will be chosen based on their performance in the Brasileiro, which we accompanied carefully," said Dunga.Players will be made aware of their invitation to play for the Olympic team next week, one week after the last round of games in the Brasileiro tournament.The coaching staff for the Brasileiro all-star team will consist of coaches named as the best coaches throughout the Brasileiro tournament. Those named thus far are Muricy Ramalho, Caio Jr. e Joel Santana.
